🇺🇦 Hello Morftenighter!

I am back home, in Vienna, after two weeks far away.

After two years without experiencing jetlag, I think I handled it more or less, mostly thanks to a few simple tips I apply on long flights:
  • Drink lots of water.
  • Don't touch alcohol.
  • Don't sleep while flying west.
  • Sleep as much as possible when eastbound.

It's been a month, and Ukraine is still fighting to defend their country and people, while we worry about doing something because we need gas and oil.

Garry Kasparov, who I strongly recommend following, was saying a couple of days ago:

If you’re so afraid of what a dictator might do if he loses that you’re letting him win, it’s time to reevaluate both your strategy and your character.

It reminded me of Benjamin Franklin's popular quote:

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Across centuries, a reminder that preserving safety in the short term has come at a high price in the past, and we shouldn't be afraid to sacrifice our comfort now to defend our future.

Spring, by night

The flowers were pink, by the way... and this was last year's spring (in the northern hemisphere).

I am sorry to disappoint, but I don't have anything to share today that I read or published.
Keeping up with work and family while traveling then catching up with both once back home left little space for anything else. So I am late with photos, writing, and the new thing I decided to learn: drawing illustrations for my posts.

I'll make up for it next week!

That's it for today! You can find more of my stuff on, and if you think that someone you know could enjoy Morfternight, the newsletter to share, please forward it to them or send them this link to subscribe.
