Focus vs. Prioritization

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

I have been obsessed with the notion of focus recently.

Over the last few years, I have become better at prioritizing and saying “no” to the less impactful things, and I have been calling that “focusing.”

A few days ago, I stumbled upon this short video on Twitter:

What focus means is saying “no” to something that you, with every bone in your body you think is a phenomenal idea, and you wake up in the morning thinking about it, but you say “no” to it because you are focused on something else.

Jony Ive

I think there is a subtle difference between prioritization and focus.

“The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and the lightning bug.”

Mark Twain

This kind of difference.
