How do you edit your mobile photos?

A short one today on photography, as I am on the road. It’s a question for y’all, though, and I’d truly appreciate it if you could answer it; I need your help!

When you don’t have your camera

I’m in Lisbon for a short trip. I didn’t bring my camera since I wouldn’t have much time to take photos. But I still have my phone.

When I take photos with a camera, I usually wait until I’m home to edit and publish them. However, I feel the urge to edit and publish right away with my phone. Maybe it’s because I want to compensate for the lack of quality.

Here are two examples. The first was taken at Zürich airport on Monday night, and the second was at the conference venue yesterday. For each, I’m sharing two edits. One that I made on my phone and published immediately. I made the second on my laptop using Capture One, as I do for photos from my camera.

I much prefer the images edited on my laptop. They have more nuances.

Part of this may be due to the editing environment. It’s difficult to be exact on a small screen, with varying lighting, and without my glasses.

But part of the blame lies with the editing tools. Photos and Snapseed are not as precise, and each edit feels very harsh when done with these apps.
